Dermaplaning Facial

The smoothest your skin has ever felt. Full stop.

Run your fingertips across your face after a dermaplaning treatment and you'll understand immediately why people come back for this every month without fail. The texture is different in a way that photographs can't quite capture — skin so smooth it feels almost unreal, foundation that melts in rather than sitting on top, a luminosity that doesn't need a filter to show up.

Dermaplaning removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair in a single, precise treatment pass — and the result is the kind of skin that makes everything else you do with it work better.

What it Treats:

Using a sterile surgical blade at a precise angle, Emily removes the accumulated dead skin cells and vellus hair from the surface of the skin. This physical exfoliation reveals brighter, smoother skin immediately — and creates the ideal surface for serums, treatments, and makeup application.

The Dermaplaning Facial at NEA goes beyond the blade — combining the dermaplaning treatment with targeted cleansing, hydration, and finishing serum for a complete result.

Most effective for:

Dull or textured skin · Fine surface lines · Dry or dehydrated skin · Skin that doesn't absorb product well · Pre-event skin preparation · Makeup wearers who want a flawless base · Clients wanting physical exfoliation without chemical sensitivity

What to Expect:

A 45 to 60 minute treatment with zero downtime. The dermaplaning itself is painless — most clients describe it as a gentle scraping sensation that is entirely comfortable. Post-treatment, skin is immediately smoother, brighter, and more radiant. Mild redness can occur and resolves within hours.

Sun protection is important in the days following treatment — freshly exfoliated skin is more susceptible to UV damage and the results are worth protecting.

Results:

  • When: Immediately and dramatically visible — this is the fastest same-session result on the facial menu alongside the Glass Skin Facial

  • How long: Results are best maintained with monthly treatments aligned to the skin's renewal cycle

  • What affects it: Skin condition, sun protection habits, and homecare routine

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types and tones. It is not recommended for clients with active acne, rosacea flares, or inflamed skin conditions — the blade requires a stable skin surface to be performed safely. Clients with very fine or fair skin may experience brief redness that resolves quickly.

If you've never had dermaplaning before and are curious about the vellus hair aspect, the most important thing to know is that it grows back exactly the same. The myth that it returns thicker or darker is exactly that — a myth.

The Questions People Actually Ask:

01. I'm nervous about a blade on my face. Is this safe? In trained hands, yes — entirely. Emily uses a sterile, single-use surgical blade at the precise angle required for safe treatment. It is one of the most controlled forms of exfoliation available and has been performed in clinical settings for decades. The nervousness almost always disappears within the first minute of treatment.

02. What about the hair — will it grow back differently? No. Vellus hair — the fine, soft hair on the face — has no ability to grow back darker or coarser regardless of how it's removed. This is a biological fact. What you will notice is how much smoother and more even your skin feels and looks without it.

03. Can I combine this with other treatments? Dermaplaning pairs particularly well with chemical peels and serum infusion treatments — the freshly exfoliated surface allows active ingredients to penetrate more effectively. Emily will advise on the best combinations based on your skin and goals.
