PRP Injections

The treatment that looks like nothing — and changes everything.

There's a version of skin improvement that doesn't involve adding anything foreign, stimulating anything artificially, or correcting anything from the outside. PRP injections work entirely from within — using a concentrated form of your own platelets, drawn from your own blood, reintroduced precisely where your skin needs the most support.

The results don't announce themselves. They accumulate. Clients who do a full series often find it difficult to pinpoint exactly what changed — only that their skin looks somehow more alive. More like it used to. More like them.

That's the nature of regenerative medicine. And it's exactly why the people who discover it rarely stop.

What it Treats:

Platelet-rich plasma is produced from a small sample of your own blood, spun in a centrifuge to isolate and concentrate the platelets and growth factors. When injected into targeted areas of the face, scalp, or skin, those growth factors signal the surrounding tissue to repair, regenerate, and produce new collagen.

There is no foreign substance. No synthetic material. Just your own biology, concentrated and redirected.

PRP injections are used to address:

Skin laxity and loss of density · Fine lines and crepiness · Under-eye hollowing and darkness · Cheek and midface volume loss · Jawline softening · Overall skin quality and radiance · Scalp health and hair thinning · Acne scarring

What to Expect:

Your appointment begins with a small blood draw — a few vials, quick and straightforward. While the PRP is being processed in the centrifuge, topical numbing is applied to the treatment areas. The injections themselves are precise and targeted — Emily maps the placement based on a thorough facial assessment before beginning.

Post-treatment, expect some redness, mild swelling, and occasional bruising at injection sites — this typically resolves within a few days. Some clients experience a temporary improvement in skin quality immediately after from the injection process itself, before the deeper regenerative work begins.

This is not a lunchtime treatment in the traditional sense — plan for a day or two of visible redness and swelling, particularly if multiple areas are treated.

Results:

  • When: Progressive improvement beginning around 3 to 4 weeks after treatment, with continued change over 3 to 6 months

  • How long: Results from a full series last 12 to 18 months, with periodic maintenance recommended

  • What affects it: Age, platelet quality, number of sessions, areas treated, and overall skin health

PRP rewards consistency. A single session delivers improvement — a full series of three, spaced four to six weeks apart, delivers the kind of change that becomes the new baseline your skin doesn't want to go back from.

IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?

PRP injections are appropriate for adults looking to improve skin quality, density, and vitality through their body's own regenerative capacity. The treatment suits all skin tones and carries no risk of allergic reaction to the treatment agent — because the agent is you.

It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Clients on blood thinners, with platelet disorders, or with active skin infections in the treatment area should discuss suitability at consultation.

PRP injections are particularly compelling for clients who prefer a natural approach, have had mixed results with synthetic treatments, or are looking for something that builds genuine tissue quality rather than creating surface-level change.

The Questions People Actually Ask:

01. How is this different from using PRP with microneedling? With microneedling, PRP is applied topically to the skin immediately after treatment — absorbed through the microchannels to enhance the healing response at the surface. PRP injections deliver the growth factors directly into the deeper layers of tissue, targeting volume loss, laxity, and skin density at a structural level. The two approaches work at different depths and serve different goals — and are often used together as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

02. I've heard about the "vampire facial." Is this the same thing? The vampire facial is microneedling with PRP — the PRP is spread over the skin after needling. PRP injections are a distinct treatment where the plasma is injected directly into the tissue. Same starting material, different delivery, different results.

03. Can PRP replace filler? Not directly. Filler adds immediate, structural volume. PRP improves tissue quality and stimulates the skin's own production of collagen and elastin over time. For some clients, particularly those in their mid-thirties with early volume loss and good skin quality, PRP alone is enough. For others, it works best as a complement to filler — improving the quality of the tissue that the filler is placed into. Emily will give you an honest answer about which approach makes more sense for your face.

04. Will I bruise? Some bruising is possible, particularly around the under-eye area and any areas with finer, more delicate skin. It's not guaranteed, but plan for the possibility — avoid blood thinners like aspirin, fish oil, and alcohol in the days before your appointment to reduce the risk.
