B12 Injection
For when your body is running, just not at full speed.
There's a specific kind of tired that sleep doesn't fix. You're functional. You're managing. But there's a flatness to your energy that's become so familiar you've started to think it's just who you are now. You get through the day. You don't quite feel like yourself doing it.
B12 deficiency is one of the most common and most overlooked contributors to that feeling — and one of the most straightforward to address. A single intramuscular injection delivers a concentrated dose of Vitamin B12 directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive absorption issues that make oral supplementation unreliable for many people. The difference, for those who need it, is not subtle.

What it Treats:
Vitamin B12 is essential to red blood cell production, neurological function, DNA synthesis, and energy metabolism. When levels are low — whether from diet, absorption issues, or simply the demands of a modern lifestyle — the effects accumulate across nearly every system in the body.
B12 injections bypass the digestive tract entirely, delivering a high-dose directly into the muscle for immediate and complete absorption.
Most relevant for:
Persistent fatigue and low energy · Brain fog and difficulty concentrating · Low mood · Clients following plant-based or restricted diets · Those with known or suspected B12 deficiency · Anyone who has tried oral B12 supplementation without meaningful results · General energy and wellbeing maintenance
What to Expect:
The injection itself takes minutes — a brief intramuscular injection, well-tolerated by most clients. Mild soreness at the injection site for a day or two is the most common post-treatment experience. There is no downtime.
Many clients notice an improvement in energy and mental clarity within days of their first injection. For those with significant deficiency, the improvement can be more pronounced and builds with a course of treatment.
A course of four weekly injections is recommended as a starting protocol — this establishes therapeutic levels before moving to a maintenance schedule based on individual response.
Results:
When: Many clients notice improvement within two to five days of their first injection
How long: Effects are sustained with regular treatment — the frequency of maintenance injections depends on individual need and response
What affects it: Degree of deficiency, diet, absorption, lifestyle, and consistency of treatment
IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?
B12 injections are appropriate for adults experiencing symptoms consistent with low B12, those following restricted diets, or anyone who wants to support their energy and neurological health directly. They are safe for most adults and well-tolerated.
If you have a known sensitivity to cobalt or cobalamin, or certain blood conditions, discuss this at consultation before proceeding.
It is worth noting that while B12 injections are effective and beneficial for those who need them, they are not a substitute for addressing other underlying causes of fatigue — poor sleep, high stress, thyroid issues, and other nutritional deficiencies can produce similar symptoms. If you're unsure whether B12 is the right starting point for what you're experiencing, Emily will discuss this honestly with you.
One important note: NEA does not test B12 levels in-clinic. If you would like to confirm whether you have a B12 deficiency before proceeding, this is something to discuss with your GP, who can arrange a blood test through standard channels. Many clients choose to proceed with B12 injections based on their symptoms and response to treatment — but if you'd prefer confirmation of your levels first, speaking with your GP is the right starting point.

The Questions People Actually Ask:
01. How do I know if I actually need this? The most accurate way to confirm B12 deficiency is a blood test through your GP. That said, many clients with low-normal B12 levels — within the reference range but at the lower end — notice meaningful improvement with injections. If you're experiencing persistent fatigue, brain fog, or low mood and haven't been able to identify a clear cause, it's a reasonable and low-risk place to start.
02. Why not just take a supplement? Oral B12 absorption is highly variable — it depends on a protein called intrinsic factor produced in the stomach, and many people absorb oral B12 poorly regardless of dose. Injections bypass this entirely, delivering the full dose directly into the bloodstream. For clients with absorption issues, dietary restrictions, or those who haven't responded to oral supplementation, injections are significantly more effective.
03. How often do I need to come in? The standard starting protocol is four weekly injections to establish levels, followed by maintenance injections every four to eight weeks depending on how you respond. Some clients maintain with monthly injections. Emily will recommend a schedule based on your symptoms and response to the initial course.
